Attention as fuel: how to read crypto Twitter before it reads you
The only fundamental driving a meme's price is attention. Crypto Twitter (CT) is its exchange, and it should be read like an exchange - with an order book, insiders, and manipulation.
Signal hierarchy
- Organic spread: the meme spreads on its own - dozens of unrelated accounts joke about it without tagging the ticker. A rare and the strongest signal.
- A large account with no history of calls: a tweet from someone who doesn't usually shill weighs multiple times more than a call from a professional caller.
- Paid calls: the main flow. Influencer price lists are an open secret - "found a gem" is a paid line item, and the wallets that bought in before the tweet are visible on-chain.
- Bot farms: hundreds of identical replies with the ticker - an imitation of organic activity, detectable in seconds by checking the profiles.
Reading rules
Look at the first derivatives of attention: growth in holders and volume BEFORE the tweets is a real signal; tweets without on-chain confirmation are noise. Remember the asymmetry: an influencer tweets once THEIR position is already built. And the key test: if the peak of mentions is already in your feed, you're reading the distribution phase (cycle).
Our social radar monitors hundreds of accounts and cross-checks mentions against on-chain data - a match between a signal and a young token is flagged automatically in the calls section.
