7 days ago, we gave $CUBEMAN a 7/10 WATCH rating-a rare rating for a meme coin. A perfect launch: score 96/100, Provenance Graduate (the community committed via a bonding curve prior to listing), 100% of the LP is locked, the mint and freeze have been revoked, and the top 10 holders own only 13%. On that day, the price rose 55% in 24 hours with 12,569 holders. This seemed like a sign of quality.

Currently, the price has fallen by -98% from its ATH. Over the past 24 hours: -92%, volume of $1.28M with liquidity of $24.6K (a ratio of 52x). The pool is alive, but its market cap has evaporated. FDV is < $60K, and that’s enough for a complete collapse in the event of a massive sell-off amid an influx of new commits.

The technicals are perfect; the market is ruthless

At the time of our last analysis, all launch canon checklists were met:

  • LP is 100% locked-it’s impossible to withdraw liquidity
  • Minting has been revoked-supply won’t be increased
  • Freeze revoked-no one can freeze accounts
  • The deployer holds 0% of the supply
  • Insiders hold 0%-no hidden positions
  • Top 10 holders hold 13% - distribution is spread across 12,000+ addresses
  • Provenance graduate-people paid real money before the listing

This wasn’t a trick by the creator, but pure market dynamics: the first wave of a pump, driven by unsubstantiated speculative interest, was followed by a dump. Our database patterns predicted this: a healthy distribution + active social media result in a rug pull in 71% of cases (n=14); LP locked ≥90% + mint revoked = a rug pull in 88% of cases (n=8). $CUBEMAN fell right in the middle of these statistics.

Risks We Couldn’t Predict

The Launch Canon measures protection against theft (liquidity won’t be frozen, supply won’t be inflated, and the deployer won’t dump). It does NOT measure market risk: the possibility that there simply won’t be any demand for the token.

The data contains no information about social media beyond the "has_socials: true" flag. There are no social media mentions from our watchlist-this means that major collers and influencers did not hype the token. The +55% growth in the first 24 hours occurred without any obvious social media activity-a typical pattern for an influx of speculators who search for new listings on Solana based solely on the chart. As soon as the first wave sold off, demand stopped.

Verdict: The mask worked, but the market was dead

$CUBEMAN is neither a scam nor a flaw in our methodology. It demonstrates that even perfect security measures (LaunchCanon score of 96) do not guarantee success in the market. The token had everything it needed to NOT be stolen, but it had nothing to make it desirable.

For future analyses of similar patterns (LP locked, mint revoked, healthy distribution), we’ve lowered the upper limit of our rating based on feedback: tokens of this type receive a maximum of 5/10 CASINO, even with a Launch Canon score ≥80. Technical quality is not the same as project quality.
