$HOOD has been on social media for an hour and there’s already a red flag: zero LP protection

What is

$HOOD (Robinhood) is a brand-new meme coin on Solana that launched just a few hours ago. It went through a bonding curve (Graduate-style), which means that hundreds of traders have already committed funds to the presale ahead of its listing on a DEX. It’s currently trading at 6.87e-5 USD with an FDV of $62.5k and liquidity of $127k-an FDV/liq ratio of roughly 1:2, which isn’t a concern for a new token. It was mentioned on social media by the @Grayscale account (although the post’s text was about another asset, $HYPE), which acted as a social trigger for our monitoring system.

Contract Distribution and Security

This is where the problems begin. The mint authority has been revoked-that’s good; the supply is locked. The freeze authority has also been revoked-no one will be able to freeze holders’ tokens. The deployer holds 0% of the supply, and insiders also hold 0%. The top 10 holders hold only 7.9%-the distribution looks healthy in terms of concentration metrics.

But LP protection is a disaster: 0% is locked. This means that someone could withdraw all the liquidity ($127k) at any moment and leave buyers with nothing. According to our statistics, tokens with unlocked LP and less than a day old fail in 82% of cases (n=11 in our database over the past month). This isn’t an assumption-it’s a pattern confirmed by actual outcomes.

The second problem: there are only 27 holders. By comparison, a healthy new token typically has 100+ holders even within the first few hours. Such a small number combined with high liquidity smacks of insider trading-it appears that the bulk of the tokens is distributed among a small circle of people who launched this project.

Activity metrics-a red flag

Over the past 24 hours, there were 14 buys and 6 sells. A volume of $7.1k with liquidity of $127k-that’s a ratio of 1:18. For a new token with social support, this is dead. Typically, a token in its first few hours of trading shows volume of at least 50% of its liquidity due to traders’ experimentation and arbitrage. Here, the volume is almost negligible, which indicates either a lack of interest or that the major holders are waiting for a pump before dumping.

The price isn’t moving: all timeframes show +1.36% over 5 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, and 24 hours. This plateau is unusual-a new token typically experiences chaotic price movements in its first few hours. A static price with zero volume smacks of bots or insider order placement.

crptch’s verdict

Launch Quality: 45/100 - the standard is partially met (mint and freeze have been revoked, distribution is spread out, and the deployer has a clean history), but the LP is not locked, and the token is less than a day old. According to our UTS engine, this token scored 19/100-below the threshold, but not a guaranteed scam. Main issue: the token is less than 24 hours old with an unlocked LP. Based on historical data, this indicates a -0.77 pump relative to the average outcome. This isn’t “might drop”-it’s “will drop statistically.”

The social signal (mention of Grayscale) is a real fact, but the post’s text is about a different asset, so this could be a false positive. There’s no visible real social activity around $HOOD.

Risks

  • The LP is fully unlocked (0%). According to our database: a crash occurs in 82% of cases within the first 7 days under these conditions. Liquidity could disappear at any moment.
  • The token is less than a day old. This is the critical window of maximum risk. Statistics: -0.77 for the pump signal-this is one of the strongest negative weights in our model.
  • Dead volume relative to liquidity (1:18). Lack of organic interest. This may indicate that the token has already been sold by insiders and is sitting idle until the planned dump.
  • Only 27 holders with $127k in liquidity. Concentration of funds among a small group. High risk of a coordinated dump or pump-and-dump.
  • The mention of Grayscale may be noise. The actual text of the post is about $HYPE, not $HOOD. A watchlist trigger, not organic hype.

Conclusion

$HOOD has all the hallmarks of a trap token: a solid launch narrative on paper (canceled mint and freeze), but fundamental vulnerabilities (LP isn’t locked) + short lifespan + dead volume. This isn’t a scam by a repeat offender; it’s more likely an insider pump waiting for enough exposure to the audience before the dump. The first 6 hours will be decisive: if volume accelerates to $50k-100k, there could be a short-term 2-3x rally. If volume remains at $7,000-10,000, the dump will happen quietly, and the token will drop 60-80% within hours.
