The Ethereum roadmap: where the network goes after the Merge and what it gives the price
Ethereum is crypto's only protocol that has been systematically rebuilding itself for a decade straight. After the Merge (the move to PoS, 2022) and the introduction of blobs for L2s (2024), the map is not finished.
The main directions
- Data scaling for L2s: more blobs, danksharding - so thousands of rollups can publish data cheaply. This cements the strategy of "L1 as the court and settlement, L2s as execution".
- Simplification and light clients: a course toward radical protocol simplification - a validator on weak hardware, verification from a phone. A bet on decentralization as the product.
- Account abstraction: wallets as smart accounts - recovery without seed phrases, paying gas with another token. The only stage an ordinary user will notice.
Which of this is an investment thesis
Soberly: technical upgrades almost never move the price directly - the Merge was "sold" in advance and did not turn the market. What affects price is the consequences: the staked share and the burn (structural supply/demand), value returning to the L1 through L2 data, institutional products on top of staking. The roadmap is about de-risking the thesis, not about pump dates.
