Stables are coming in, but $BTC is on edge: $63.3K amid a Fear Index of 29
The morning paradox: real money is flowing into crypto (stablecoins up 0.43% over the past 24 hours to $307.4B), but the market remains in a panic. The F&G index has dropped to 29 (Fear)-nearly at the bottom of the scale. Global market capitalization is down 0.37% for the day, even though funding rates for $BTC and $ETH remain positive (+0.01 and +0.0034, respectively). This is a classic case of dissonance: capital inflows are hitting a wall of mistrust.
Major cryptocurrencies are falling, while $BTC maintains its dominance
The red zone is everywhere: $BTC bounced from $63.2K to $64.5K during the day but closed at $63.3K (-0.85%). $ETH fared worse, down 0.59% to $1.86K. $SOL took the biggest hit: -0.99% on a volume of $90.6M-altcoins are crashing faster than the King. The exception is $TON: +0.95%, holding up like a champ so far. $BTC’s dominance remains stable at 56.37%-the king isn’t losing his throne even amid the panic.
Buyers or a trap?
The dilemma is simple: either this is smart money, ignoring F&G and preparing for a bounce, or it’s liquidity ahead of a new downturn. Funding on $SOL is already negative (-0.0076)-shorts are setting the stage. Our degen index has risen to 72-that sounds like a sign of readiness for volatility, but in which direction? An influx of stablecoins without a price increase usually means one thing: accumulation ahead of a move. The question is: when will the market buy into this scenario? So far, F&G is saying no.
